Surgical Treatment: Nail and Soft Tissue

Nail and soft tissue surgeries are invasive treatment options to provide immediate relief in pain to help treat certain foot conditions
Toenail avusions surgeries involve the removal of a part of the nail or the total nail from the nail bed. The procedure may be done with a chemical called phenol that is used to destroy the nail bed and the nail matrix to prevent regrowth of the nail in the area. This procedure is used to treat ingrown toenails, damaged toenails, chronic toenail conditions, injury, and infection.
Conditions that can be treated with toenail Avusion
Ingrown toenails
Fungal toenails
Subungual hematoma and toenail injury/trauma
Chronic damaged toenail and thickened toenail
Types of Nail Avulsion
Partial nail avulsion - only a part of the toenail is removed. Local anesthesia is required to numb the toe
Total nail avulsion - entire toenail is removed from the area. Local anesthesia is required to numb the toe
Chemical removal of toenail - involves the use of urea to dissolve the toenail gradually. Local anesthesia is not required. Usually done for fungal toenails
